SUCCESS AND MORE REFLECTIONS ON LIVING WITH ENTHUSIASM
A couple of weeks ago,
I mentioned that I have been working on my blocks to success
the Healing Codes.
Last week (1st week of May), I started working with some more targeted “codes” that are specifically designed to help you rid yourself of blocks to your own success. As with all healing codes, these "codes" are heart-based (that would be the emotional/spiritual heart, not the physical one). There are 12 areas of focus: forgiveness, healthy actions, transforming beliefs, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trust, humility, and self-control. You work on one per day, in the above order, then each day after that you examine what comes up when you think about a goal, and use whichever of the 12 Success Code fits the area that's coming up blocked the most.
Interesting that forgiveness is the first thing that you work on, isn’t it? What a wonderful thing it is to be able to forgive. It just releases all kinds of negative gunk in one’s life. But, forgiveness is so hard. I find it especially hard to forgive myself. Boy do I ever find that hard. I blame myself for everything that goes on around me. If I could find a reason to, I’d probably try to blame myself for all of the world’s problems.
So, I have to ask myself, “How can I live my life with Emma’s enthusiasm, if I can’t even forgive myself for taking time off? How can I possibly be enthusiastic about my life when all I see is what I haven’t accomplished?” The answers to those questions are kind of obvious, aren’t they? Well, duh, no wonder I can never feel like I’m successful, and my subconscious feels the need to put up blocks, if I believe that I am never doing, or being enough.
So, I am doing my success codes; one area of focus at a time. The goal is to be able to say to yourself that for the next 30 minutes you will live in truth and love. And, you do that for EVERY 30 minutes. Thirty minutes isn’t too hard to think about; whereas thinking about it having to do something all of the time is just, well, overwhelming. Anyway, apparently, if you keep paying attention to living in truth and love for the next 30 minutes, and you do that every 30 minutes, every day, for 40 days, you will never want to go back to living your life the way you lived it before. That sounds good to me.
This morning (Wed May 9), I started setting the timer on my phone for 30 minutes at a time. When the alarm goes off, I make the intention of living in truth and love for the next 30 minutes. I feel really good when I do that, but I do tend to forget about it after a few minutes. I may shorten it to every 15 minutes for a while. The only thing is that I need to deal with clients and students; and every 15 minutes could get distracting.
What does all of this have to do with living with enthusiasm? That is in the title of this article. Actually, I had no idea what I was going to write about when I wrote the title (I added the word “success” to the title a month later). The Healing Codes stuff just came out when I started to write. I do have to say, though, that I think that doing everything with enthusiasm, and living in truth and love go hand in hand. In fact, when I am actually focused on living in truth and love, I feel that same sense of gratitude and joy that I feel when I am attempting to do something with enthusiasm. I look forward to seeing where this takes me.
